The pattern reads:
Loop the yarn around knitting needle #8 a 20 times and then make one dc/sc to connect them.

That'll make a circle. But I'm baffled at how to do it. How do I make the dc or sc? Through something? It's here: http://www.mypicot.com/patterns/7002.pdf
